What I said wouldn't happen....

So, when I was pregnant with Brooklyn I was a little thrown off by finding out she was a girl. I had boys. I knew boys. Dirt, frogs, bodily functions...all fun/funny in some way. I knew this. I know girls obviously because I am one...but beyond that, the "little girl" world scared me a bit. We had no baby dolls, dress up jewelry, tea sets and such. I confided in my good friend Amy, mom of 2 girls and pregnant with her 3rd girl...and she thought it was so funny that her first gift to Brooklyn was a tiara. Here's B enjoying her crown at a young age... Very fun! So, now I have the girliest of girls...a few examples...
  • She said to her daddy just the other day "I daddy's pincessss"

  • Her first sentence "oh no, where bow?" (patting her head in search of the requirement)

  • Everything is a purse

  • She is always in my purse...

  • ...and has applied my long-lasting lipgloss

  • my purse now hangs on a high hook in the understairs closet! :)

  • Without being shown, she just knew how to rock a baby, pour/play tea, cuddle bears, and carry that previously mentioned purse.

  • Every time I get her dressed she says "You take pitture"

Here's an example of why she says that...

...and yes, in that photo with her shopping cart, she IS wearing her swimsuit over her pjs. Hmmm...maybe I should add dress up to that list of girly things.

Just in case you are feeling like this is true and my girl is ALL girly though...

the black-eye of '07 Christmas (acquired on a wooden staircase) and the identical head wounds from September of '08 and just last week...both sustained when she tripped and went full force into the moulding around our doors. Ahhh...girly, but not necessarily graceful! Here's to Brooklyn...life would be boring without her!
